However, variables such as impact strength and tensile strength have to be considered when using two or more types of plastics.

The technique produces final products with more enhanced strength compared to other traditional manufacturing methods. It is possible to use filler in molds which reduce the density of the plastic. It also helps in increasing the strength of a finished product. The strength and durability of plastics have greatly increased due to this. Plastics can now withstand more rugged environments.

It is the most cost-effective method of manufacturing various products. The equipment typically runs on a self-gating automated tool that requires minimal supervision. This reduces the cost of labor by a great percentage. Plastic consolidation and overproduction also reduce the overall costs. High accuracy and production rate make it cost effective.

Those are just a few of the reasons why most manufacturers have opted to use the injection molding technique. Besides being cost effective, it facilitates mass production of complex designs.
