Aspects That Should Be Evaluated When Considering Laminated Mat Rentals

By Edward Martin

For construction sites, the materials to be used must be durable enough. In that case, the laminated mats have become a common choice and widely used materials although these are, by nature, lightweight unlike hardwood because these can maneuver better and more versatile. Generally, these are mainly used to build drilling platforms and temporary roads, material lifting, and protecting the surface. These are used when one attempts to cross wet terrains. They come in different compositions and sizes.

It will be used in every operation or project cycle. Hence, there should be an evaluated decision. It will either be buying one or more from stores or considering the laminated mat rentals. This is one of the most common and seemingly the hardest question that companies are stressed about. There are important aspects that they have to consider many times before making a final decision.

Monthly rentals can sound attractive as this is said to have the lesser expense in comparison with purchasing mats. While many found it enticing, there are some of them who are not in favor of this scheme. This article enumerates and explains the important factors that are of big help.

First of all, one has to consider the duration of using these mats. It is the biggest and most important consideration one has to keep in mind. This is why it is listed first. Going back to the topic, the duration is directly proportional to its size. If a company plans to rents a small mat, it will usually pay a rent of four or five months. As for the larger ones, the duration is also longer. If a company wants to use a mat for six months or more, purchasing them makes a better option.

They also have to consider the freight costs. This is because you have to pay them on top of monthly expenses when you will be returning it. This makes a big difference between rentals and purchase. In this juncture, the former is more costly than the latter. To determine which rentals make the best choice, the sum of rentals and freight will definitely do the talk.

The third and definitely the last broad aspect to consider are its chances of being worn out. For sure, companies do not like to incur additional charges only because of slight damage. Thus, they should be mindful of the following examples that can have a negative impact on its durability.

A number of times it has been rented or used is one of the influences that can affect its likelihood. A mat which has been used countless times more likely to be worn out because of constant usage which can cause damages that can increase such likelihood, although they can be hardly noticed. Heavy things like machinery that were placed above it can have a major impact too. Little by little, it will increase its likelihood of being damaged since a heavy object forces pressure on those without rubber tires.

The third influence is their movement. If they are used in different areas at the same project, there is an increased chance of breaking not just one but many of them. Same goes when choosing to leapfrog them.

It is very clear how these types of materials can be useful for every construction work or activity being conducted or facilitated. The aspects as explained must be taken into further evaluation. It applies to both buying and renting one, whichever a company or firm prefers in a given situation. Hopefully, this helps.
