The Significance Of Organic Handmade Soap

By Shirley Sanders

Many times after shower you may find your skin irregularly dry and uncomfortable. This is because of using common commercial detergents made up of chemicals that cause skin dehydration and also poses harm to the environment. Organic handmade soap contains no artificial fragrance and is made up of natural oils from plants such as olive, aloe vera among others.

Commercial detergents containing artificial ingredients are harsh to the human skin and normally leaves the epidermis more vulnerable to diseases. This is because they destroy the normal flora of the human skin. They are usually made in masses without a lot of thought. However, the natural handcrafted soap is made with a great deal of thought, love, and care. Those with sensitive skin, vitamin E and Aloe Vera is perfect for them. These help in fighting diseases such as eczema as a result of compromised skin.

Commercial detergents have alkali in large amount. This makes them cause skin irritation. This is because their constituents include petroleum products which are responsible for irritations and skin dehydration. Moreover, they have some antibacterial such as triclosan and BHT in them. Most homemade ingredients used in making the handmade detergents are antibacterial and need no supplement form the synthetic ingredients.

Incorporation of antibiotics in the regular detergents may lead to drug resistance by some microorganisms as a result of selective pressure on these microorganisms. These detergents may kill microorganisms leaving behind the resistant strains to bring up a generation of resistant ones. This is the major cause of drug resistance.

The most important products of the detergents are glycerin. This compound is known for moistening as well as smoothening the epidermis. The industrially made detergents extract this compound and incorporate it in lotions and shampoos. However, the naturally made detergents use ingredients that contain glycerin thus there is no need for extraction and incorporation. They can be found in different shapes and sizes.

Synthetic chemicals found in regular soaps can penetrate the skin into the body system. This may result in allergic reactions which may be worse and cause cytotoxic shock leading to death. This is because the epidermis skin contains numerous pores which can allow some small particles inside the body especially when the natural skin defenses are down. When you use natural detergents, you can forget about all these problems.

The industrially made soap are also generally cheap and have some standardized chemicals which may just clean the surface of the human skin but leave no beneficial substance on it. Moreover, it leaves the epidermis more vulnerable than it was before. Natural soaps are made not only to get rid of germs but also to give the skin a beneficial property such as smoothness and moisture. They consist of natural oils like coconut oil and olive oil which are important for the skin.

The art of making natural detergents is a good activity that one should try out. This is because everything that you are working with is safe and poses no danger to the environment. You can start with a simple method which includes melt and pour methods. They are a lot of molds you can use when you want to be more creative in making natural detergents.
